This antique boy doll is dressed in his Sunday best. It was tailor made for him and might be original as well as his great hat. He is sewn into the clothes. He has great striped socks. His face is a center seam one with button eyes and what is left of embroidered eye lashes. He has great ears that give him a lot of character. His arms and knees are jointed and his body bends some at the hips but he does have a bit of an awkward sit. He is firmly stuffed with cotton and I think he is all hand sewn. The clothes are treadle machine sewn,(wiggly lines mean that the sewing machine did not have an automatic feeder so you pulled the fabric through as you pumped the pedal at your feet, lots of eye hand and feet coordination going on). He is 21" tall and is circa 1890-1900
